A restrained palette.
A warmer everyday.

A restrained palette, considered proportions and furnishings with a sense of time create a warm, relaxed setting in this duplex home. Timber, pale textiles and touches of darker colour carry through the different rooms.

Furniture proportions, material textures and the rhythm of the styling connect individual objects within the space. Pale tones and natural timber form a light base, with black accents defining the edges. Timber stair treads and a dark balustrade continue the shared areas’ material palette; the bedrooms take a quieter approach.

Design focus

Continuity across a duplex home, with furniture, artwork and objects given an appropriate scale and room to breathe.

Key decisions

White, beige and timber form the base palette, while dark outlines and occasional caramel tones add depth. A rug defines the living area; textiles contrast with the darker table surfaces.

Photographed outcome & role

The photographs show the relationships between furniture, textiles, artwork and accessories. AVA HOME’s scope was furnishing design and implementation. Architectural and fit-out elements, including the staircase, are not presented as part of that furnishing scope.

All images on this page are completed-project photographs. AVA HOME’s actual involvement is stated in the credits above.
