Finding warmth
in darker tones.

Dark furniture anchors the rooms, with timber and pale walls providing a quieter backdrop. Light, leather and textiles create layers that soften the strong, dark character of the space.

Closely related dark tones shift in visual weight through sheen, texture and touch. Blinds filter daylight into fine lines, while a lounge chair, fabrics and objects by the window create places to pause. The space retains a distinct character and a softness for everyday use.

Design focus

A dark-toned interior that balances furniture, daylight and everyday use, with clear layers of colour and texture.

Key decisions

Dark sofas and tables are balanced by warm brown tones, leather, timber and rugs. Pale backgrounds, window light and focused lighting offset the visual weight of darker furniture.

Photographed outcome & role

The published photographs show colour and material relationships in the living area and window-side arrangements. AVA HOME’s role was furnishing design and implementation; the presentation focuses on that scope.

All images on this page are completed-project photographs. AVA HOME’s actual involvement is stated in the credits above.
